Chilli JAM episode 13 is here with a techy mix of futuristic house, techno, beats and bleeps.
The latest instalment of the bi-weekly Chilli JAM Podcast has been put together by Leeds based producer, DJ and label boss (of Forbiden Fruit Redordings), Dark Room Robot.
Mr Robot is a man of much smiles and madness. After spending many years shaking it on the dancefloor hes now attempting to rattle the bass bins himself. Deep dark pulsing grooves with a hint of robotic and a splash of electro noises and dubby hits…
The robotic ones tracks have been played in numerous clubs across the world, from Sankeys to Fortress Studios, london, and on numerous worldwide radio stations including BBC Radio 1.
The first two Ep’s can be found on More Music label on Beatport, Juno and all other major download sites. A number of new releases in the pipeline on the excellent Forbidden Fruit Recodings label which i run.
DRR is involved with couple of collaberations (S.N.U.S and ‘Click & Zoom) that have been released to critical acclaim and had A-list support from Circo Loco DJ’s to Groove Armada, Hybrid and beyound, you can now find some of these up on Beatport.
Hey folks, I just wanted to direct everyone’s attention to another nice music blog, Lost in Musik, from merry ol’ England. The blog is run by the crew from Forbidden Fruit Recordings and is a great source of music info and news.
Anyway, they run an ongoing competition for producers, like myself, to submit music you have made; they pick the top tune and post a feature on the artist.
My tune Deep Funk was picked as the first winning tune and they have done a small feature and interview with yours truly. Head on over to Lost in Musik and check it out.
Chilli JAM episode 9 is here with the sweet sounds of summer bought to you by the Auckland house duo of Maya and Vanya.
Originally from Croatia, their exotic yet fun and quirky culture, and music encompassing a cross-cultural style, sets them apart from today’s other young talent.
The sister duo grew up listening to a wide array of music that can be heard in their sets today. From Gypsy Kings to The Beatles, Talking Heads to the Rolling Stones, Gloria Gaynor to Larry Levin as well as the funk and hip hop icons DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash and Bambaataa; together with various attempts throughout their young years at learning musical instruments of all shapes and sizes.
Their eclectic and fun sets teamed with vast knowledge in music have made them become some of the most in-demand young DJs in NZ. Having a slightly different music taste from one another, put together they create a unique blend of music to get the dancefloor pumping.
Their style ranges from upfront House, Disco and Nu Funk to Tech-House, Baile Funk UK and Bmore.
