Chilli JAM episode 9 is here with the sweet sounds of summer bought to you by the Auckland house duo of Maya and Vanya.
Originally from Croatia, their exotic yet fun and quirky culture, and music encompassing a cross-cultural style, sets them apart from today’s other young talent.
The sister duo grew up listening to a wide array of music that can be heard in their sets today. From Gypsy Kings to The Beatles, Talking Heads to the Rolling Stones, Gloria Gaynor to Larry Levin as well as the funk and hip hop icons DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Flash and Bambaataa; together with various attempts throughout their young years at learning musical instruments of all shapes and sizes.
Their eclectic and fun sets teamed with vast knowledge in music have made them become some of the most in-demand young DJs in NZ. Having a slightly different music taste from one another, put together they create a unique blend of music to get the dancefloor pumping.
Their style ranges from upfront House, Disco and Nu Funk to Tech-House, Baile Funk UK and Bmore.
